This project aimed at providing a fall-back solution for the parking revenue control system at the two airports in Rome, Italy. The result was a mobile application capable of
- issuing parking tickets
- scanning and evaluating parking tickets issued by a dispenser at the car park entry
- accepting payment via a variety of channels: all major credit cards, PayPal
The application was backed by an app gateway sitting in the cloud to consolidate all communication streams and provide the required level of security for all payment processes. Credit card processing was done via a Bluetooth-connected credit card terminal (SumUp / Muria).
